“The Spinal Column”
Notes from the Doctor
Personally, I hate waiting exceptionally long in a doctor's office. It is this motivation that I use to make your experience in our office efficient and as timely as possible. Using a company from San Diego, California, IMATRIX, we have enhanced some of the website's features to allow you to learn more about chiropractic health care and your individual condition. Our new website will be fully functional this spring and will allow those who are interested to download our audio program on chiropractic, read our chiropractic handbook, fill out new patient forms, and use a functional nerve chart to highlight the potential nerve connections of your individual subluxations.
Our Mission to create chiropractic awareness to the community has continued with several spinal screenings this spring. We participated in the Women's Fair in late February as well as the Home and Garden Show and Business-to-Business Expo in March. I helped co-ordinate the Carteret County Health Team in which 10 local health care providers are providing complimentary health care screenings throughout the community. We held our most recent one at Dr. Nutz' office on February 28th. The facts remain that only about 20 percent of the population have experienced a visit to a chiropractor. Realizing that more than 20 percent of the population has vertebral subluxations; it is our mission to help attempt to bridge this gap with grass roots awareness programs.
Other features over the past year have included the addition of dinner coupons to Morehead City Subway restaurant for those who attend our bi-monthly Wellness lectures. Although our new patient paperwork is about as comprehensive as you can get, the addition of the “Loss of Wellness” form and the Bournemouth cervical spine questionnaire gives us more information in assessing history and how a patient is improving. Our automated reminder call system has increased our kept appointments, which has helped patients adhere to their care program. We are testing a new in-house cervical curve device to determine what benefits it may have in the improvement of the cervical curvature.
Yours in health,
Patrick D. McLaughlin, D.C.
